I'm Kai,
nice to meet you.
Hi, I'm Kai. I am a UX designer/user researcher with a Psychology background. I have one year experience as a user researcher in a design consulting agency. Recently, I received my masters degree in Human-Computer Interaction Design from City, University of London.
Also, I am an illustrator who finds inspirations from nature and a traveller who loves learning different cultures.
I am looking for a UX designer or a user researcher position. Feel free to contact me to discuss my projects and experiences.
How I got started in user research
Before my career as a UX practitioner, I wanted to be a clinical psychiatrist, where I can help people doing better and solve their problems. I volunteered in a physiatrist ward and I just found out that was not for me.
I stared to explore other options being a psychologist but not clinical. That’s when I found User Experience Design, solving problems and designing things by studying human behaviour, that is the coolest job I'd like to do.
So I join the UX internship in a design consulting agency and later got promoted as a UX researcher in the company. That’s when I did user researches, mainly focus on qualitative studies in the field.
What I've been working on
When I was working in the design consulting agency, I worked closely with the head of research to solve UX challenges and proposed innovative concepts to clients. I involved in a variety of projects including service design and smart living technologies.
During my time in HCID programme, I've worked on design projects in topics such as Interaction Design, Information Architecture, System Evaluation and Inclusive Design.
What I'm curious about
My passion is to learn from the users and bring meaningful experience to them. I am interested studying human behaviour and decision-making.
Also, I am curious about how technologies can support everyday life in terms of health, specially in mental health.
